How to Use Golf Swing Slow Motion to Improve Your Golf Swing
Before I discussed what a golf swing in slow motion is all about, now I am going to discuss how to use a slow motion golf swing to improve your golf swing.
If you are planning to use golf swing slow motion to improve your golf swing, it is essential that you read everything that I am about to go over here before you make any decisions. It could save you hundreds of dollars and lots of frustration time.
The first thing you want to do is find a mirror. You can start by viewing your slow motion golf swing in front of the mirror. What you want to look for are obvious signs of error in your back swing, posture, grip, angle of swing, positioning of your feet and follow through of your golf club. Practice several times in front of the mirror to make sure that any of these obvious mistakes are eliminated from your swing. For some of you, this is the only thing that you need to do in order to understand where to fix your golf swing. For the rest of us, we need some additional tools to capture our golf swing in slow motion.
The next thing you want to do is to get the right tools to analyze your swing in slow motion. Here is where you need to pay particular attention to what I am about to go over. This can save you lots of headache and money. You will need a good digital golf video camera, a tripod, golf swing analysis software to capture your swing, extra lighting and a golf staging area with a golf net. If you already have a good video camera with a tripod, then golf swing analysis software maybe the only item that you need; however, these items can cost you a lot of money and time to setup the right way, so what I am going to go over here will eliminate these expenses and provide you with the same or better results. I have tried all of the equipment I mentioned above to capture my swing, which works really well; however, as I mentioned these items can cost a lot of money. There are “all in one solutions” that accomplish the same thing. The only issue I have with these solutions is that it may not be feasible to use them outside and it can be a little tricky to get the setup right.
If you are using a golf video camera with a tripod, there are two setups that you want to be aware of. The first setup is referred to as “down the line”. The video camera is placed directly behind you to capture your swing plane. This particular angle will reveal any errors in your golf swing plane. The second angle is from the front. This angle will capture your shoulder movement, your lateral angle as well as your impact on the golf ball. Things you want to look for are: if you are keeping your eye on the ball, your body positioning being in the same golf swing plane and if your weight is being transferred from your toes to your heels. You want to make sure that you have a lot of lighting to get the best images of your swing.
For the all in one method: This is basically a golf simulator that has everything built into it. You do not need to buy a bunch of things to use this method; all you need to do is setup and let this system do the work for you. You may not capture as many details as you would from using all the items I mentioned above but this is a cheap and effective alternative that I have used successfully. I have two recommendations for using this all in one solution – click on the images below to check them out. One is a bit more pricey than the other one. You can see my golf swing simulator review for these products below each image.
The Dancin Dogg OptiShot needs some time to get used to. It is not the most accurate but will definitely help to tell you if a change in your golf swing is an improvement or not. The thing I like about this product is that unlike going to the range, this gives me immediate feedback on my golf swing and it has 7 top golf courses programmed into it, so it is just like you are playing on these golf courses. I got this product just to try out these fabulous golf courses!
The P3PROSWING golf simulator is a bit more expensive than the Dancin Dogg. What is different with the P3 is that the graphics and accuracy are much better. The P3 also has a simulated 18 hole golf course to practice on. The setup for the P3 takes a little bit more time than the Dancin Dogg. What I like about the P3 is that it also has a Video Capture so I can see and analyze my golf swing from two different angles. For me, the P3PROSWING is worth every penny. I can play golf in the middle of the night when I cannot sleep or in the middle of winter. The best part is that when I do get on the golf course, I play my best golf game each and every time and have a blast doing it!
So if you want to get the most out of analyzing your golf swing, I HIGHLY recommend these above products to get the most bang for your buck and eliminate the frustration of complicated products that do not work as well as they say they do. I have tried many of these products and these are the best products I have come across.
